“Good beer, cabin feels, fun times.” North Point Brewing was one of the first craft breweries to open in the new Shipyards District in North Vancouver.
With a classic cabin style stove, stacks of firewood, live edge tables and generous views into the brewhouse, the space puts a visitor in a cabin mood, even in the city. Big rollup doors catch summer breezes the flow deep into the double height space. The architecture retains its converted industrial flavour and from the second floor, views over the Burrard Inlet south to Vancouver are unparalleled.
Converting this little industrial building into a lively public space was not without challenges. To gain approval for the project, PLACE carried the project through a rezone, involving long discussions with Planning and ultimately Council presentation and approval. Setting up a fully functional brewery in a tight, two storey space built deep into a steep hillside required technical precision and creative collaboration with our team of trusted engineers.
